Muir Woods

Went hiking at Muir Woods National Park located 1hr North of San Francisco, CA. We went on the perfect day where it wasn’t too cold or too warm and we had a great time exploring the famous redwoods and enjoying our hike throughout this beautiful and quiet park full of vibrant greenery. As you may already know, I love hiking and have climbed Mt. Fuji, Takaosan, Komagatake, Half Dome in Yosemite, etc and now adding Muir Woods to my repertoire :)

They have multiple trails to choose from and you can mix the trails too which is nice. We got there first thing in the morning when the park opened at 8am and had a great ~4 hour hike. We then headed to Muir Beach and explored a bit plus stopped by Marin Country Mart as well.

Next up is an uber stylish company located in San Francisco. I recently had a chance to visit my friend at the Pinterest HQ which is located in SoMa. Their office is in a warehouse space that has artistic architecture and screams industrial cool. Their open-space concept with high ceilings, pops of colors throughout, and fun detailed decorations make the space more like a lounge than an office space. Loved the clean modern space with all the little touches throughout their office that made the place fun to work in yet cozy. The best part is, even the employees are surprised by the constant change in their office space as the designer keeps adding/moving around their furniture to keep it exciting.

As for their food options, the employees get free lunches everyday. Their lunch is catered daily but always has a salad bar/deli section. They also have lots of free snacks and drinks to choose from as well. The day I visited was Indian Curry day so I had some curry + salad. The last photo of the pink flamingos are from the women’s bathroom! Check out more photos after the link below.

Facebook Headquarters

Guess what? I am currently in Sunny California making my tour around this awesome state, and I got to visit Facebook Headquarters located in Silicon Valley (Menlo Park, CA to be exact). It’s probably one of the largest scale campuses I have visited for a tech company, and believe it or not, they are building a new larger campus across the street because they are outgrowing their current space!

My visit to Google Japan’s office was quite exciting but this is a whole different scale and it feels like you are visiting Disneyland or something. As I walked through their campus, I couldn’t help but feel like I was in college as everyone seems young and dressed in relaxed outfits. So different from the Japanese salary-men style. The office layout is open concept and it definitely feels like the “IT” place to be.

The food is the best part. SO many options to choose from!! There’s a specialty BBQ place, Burger joint, Sushi restaurant, Coffee shop, Sweets shop (Bakery, Ice cream, Froyo), and a cafeteria that changes their menu daily, Juice Bar, Salad Bar, Make your own Sandwich/Panini section, just unbelievable. The most amazing part is, aside from a few restaurants, everything is FREE for employees and guests! I couldn’t decide what I wanted to eat due to so many options, I decided to get something from the cafeteria and Sweets Shop and had a pretty good experience :D

Tokyo Eats Guide Book

Thank you so much for your amazing response and interest in the Tokyo Eats Guide Book and a special thanks to those of you who have already purchased a copy!! I have gotten emails & comments from readers and friends from all over the world and couldn’t be happier or more thankful for your love and support :)

……………………………………………………

I also wanted to take this opportunity to answer three questions I’ve received from several readers:

1) Is the guide book sold in local book stores in Japan?

The Tokyo Eats Guide Book is only available for online orders at the moment as I am self-publishing the book. I chose this company (which is owned by Amazon) so that it would be easier for English-language speakers to purchase. However, it seems like shipping to Japan doesn’t take too long since I’ve received some emails from readers and friends who received their copies relatively quickly. I will definitely keep you updated in the future should the book become available directly in Japan.

2) Is a PDF version of the Tokyo Eats Guide Book available?

Unfortunately there is no PDF or eBook version at this time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

3) How long does shipping take?

The book will be shipped from the United States. Please check HERE for the estimated delivery time to your country.
