Delicious Nan bread. I mean, look at it!
This Indian restaurant is located in Ebisu near Ebisu Garden Place. They serve Indian Curry that is more favored to fit Japanese people’s taste. They use real spices from India but not as strong or spicy as authentic Indian curries.
Pictured above are the Curry lunch set which came with butter chicken curry, nan, and a drink for 950yen and the Tarry lunch set that comes with two different types of curry, rice, nan, chicken, salad, and a drink for 1250yen. You can also adjust the spiciness of your curry.
I would have to say even though it’s not authentic curry, everything was pretty good and I enjoyed the nan bread. It’s great that the nan is all you can eat even though it’s quite large already.
If you are looking for authentic curry, I recommend here.

This hidden restaurant is a gem although it’s well known among the OL (ladies who work in the area). Located in Roppongi, ARIA is a pasta house that serves delicious handmade pasta. For lunch, you choose a pasta of your choice and it comes with a drink (coffee or tea) for only 950yen. We added 250yen to add an appetizer, small salad, and bread which I think is worth it.
You can choose 4 different sauces for your pasta. Oil, Tomato, Cream, or other. Pictured above are 3 different pastas we ordered for lunch. ‘Carbonara’, ‘Bacon and Mushroom Cauliflower Cream’, and I think the last one was “Today’s pasta”. They were all so good and the handmade pasta was delicious. You may initially think the portion size may not be enough but it’s surprisingly filling.
This is a popular place so I suggest coming right when it opens for lunch time or else you’ll be stuck waiting. I highly recommend this place if you are a pasta lover.

This Chinese Restaurant uses seasonal ingredients and specializes in creating healthy dishes with Chinese herbs that are good for your body which is why it’s very popular amongst women. On the weekdays they offer lunch from just 1000yen, but on the weekends their lunches start from 1500yen. We decided to get their pre-fix lunch course which includes a main dish of your choice, soup, appetizer, dan dan noodles, rice or porridge, dessert, and a drink of your choice.
Everything was delicious and we enjoyed a nice relaxing lunch which is close to Gaienmae Ichonamiki. If you are feeling like your body needs some detox after drinking too much the night before or just want something good for your body, come check out this place.

AS Classics Diner is owned by the same owner as A&G Diner at Gaienmae. AS Classics Diner also has opened a location in Roppongi Hills so you can try their burgers at any of these locations.
They are an American-style burger joint inspired by the 60’s and are quite popular with the locals here. The location we went to is right by Komazawa Olympic Park and gets crowded on the weekends. All of their burgers include tomato, grilled onions, lettuce, original sauce, an original bun and the meat itself is 100% beef. For lunch, we ordered the “Hamburger Lunch set” (1050yen), which comes with fries and a drink of your choice. We also added a small salad (extra 157yen) and customized our burgers a bit by adding cheese (extra 105yen) and avocado (extra 105yen).
The burgers here are not as large as American-sized burgers but they are still larger than regular Japanese burger joints. I was quite full after my meal. The meat has a smokey grilled flavor to it and it’s pretty good. Their monthly burgers are also popular. If you’re hungry for a burger and close to any of these locations, I recommend giving it a try.

Found a pretty good sushi lunch spot in Ginza. Located in a back alley behind the Matsuya Ginza Department store, this is a hidden but popular place amongst Japanese businessmen and OLs. It’s easy, good, and affordable. We came here on a weekday right when the restaurant opened and we were 3rd in line. The line was a lot longer when we came out after eating though.
Pictured above are the “Zukeana Chirashi/づけ穴ちらし” (1200yen) and “Tokusen Chirashi/特選ちらし” (1500yen). The Zukeana Chirashi comes with Anago + Tuna but all sorts of yumminess is hidden underneath the rice plus it even includes a soup and all this for only 1200yen. The Tokusan Chirashi comes with a whopping 16 pieces of sushi + soup for only 1500yen and it was quite filling- I almost couldn’t finish my lunch. This is a nice option for those of you who are already in Ginza and feel like eating sushi for lunch.
