Are you lacking some veggies? Then come here! This place is in the middle of Ebisu and Daikanyama and you can enjoy lots of different types of seasonal vegetables, herb teas, and more. As you can imagine, this place is very popular amongst women.

Pictured above are the pizza lunch set for 1100yen (the one that looks like a huge pita with salad on top with herb chicken) as well as the shrimp avocado salad pasta lunch for 1100yen. They both come with a small side soup and a drink of your choice so we chose the herb tea out of 7 different selections: Refresh, relax, detox, beauty, diet, recover, hang over, balance. They also have organic coffee, lychee tea, and darjeeling to choose from. Everything was delicious and it was hard to choose what we wanted to eat as everything looked good. Even though it’s just salad, it was filling as well.

PS: I know, funny restaurant name right? heh

Weekend Garage Tokyo is a great new hang out spot which just opened in the middle of Ebisu, Daikanyama, and Shibuya. It’s roughly 10mins walking distance from any of the three stations located right next to the Yamanote train line tracks. Perhaps due to the somewhat random location, this cafe has a nice spacious area with vaulted ceilings and plenty of outdoor seating.

The name says it all, Weekend Garage Tokyo, is literally like a garage full of fun toys. It has bicycles, surf boards, a DJ booth, interesting art and it’s just a fun spot with a great vibe. Even better, the food lives up to the level of the decor. Been here a few times already with friends and pictured above are a few of the dishes we ordered: The grilled plate of the day “Mexican Pork Grill with Mango Sauce”(1200yen), “Hamburg plate”(1200yen), and the “Hot Sandwich of the day”(900yen). All the dishes include a large drink (a choice of coffee, tea,  homemade lemonade, ginger ale, coke or grapefruit juice). Everything I’ve tasted here has been great except on one occasion the bread they used for the hot sandwiches was really hard from being over toasted.

It’s nice that the inside seats are all non-smoking but you can smoke if you sit in any of the outdoor seats. Add up the open kitchen + good food + decor/ambiance + service + cost and I think you’ll agree that this place is a new hip hidden spot in town.

Annon Cook is a cozy cafe that used to be located in Harajuku and recently opened up in Daikanyama. This cafe specializes in healthy foods that make your body happy.

We ordered their “Gohan set” (rice set) with Japanese ice tea for 1100yen and their “Curry set” with Japanese tea for 1100yen. The rice set included brown rice, burdock, mushrooms, mizuna, and was seasoned with garlic and olive oil. The Curry set was a Thai curry with brown rice. Both dishes were subtle in their flavoring but still tasty. The portions are a bit small so if you are hungry this place may not satisfy you – but the service, ambiance, and food are all good. The white walls, the wood tables, the soft lighting, the calm atmosphere, the place was filled with friends, couples, families, babies, and single guests all in the same place.

If you are looking for a light meal in Daikanyama, check out Annon Cook which is on the 2nd floor.

One of LA’s popular cafes opened a store in Tokyo on April 24th, 2013. With it’s chic location in Daikanyama and its very spacious venue, I have a feeling that this cafe will do well. They have a great terrace seating and also allow guests to bring their dogs with them to dine (only for the terrace seats). Urth caffe is famous for their breakfast, organic coffees (especially the lattes), salads and more. We decided to order some of our favorite dishes: a full-size ‘Urth Salad’ (1360yen), Chicken Curry Sandwich (1600yen), and a large Green Tea latte (600yen). Although it feels a bit pricey, the food was the same sized portions as the US and it was yummy just as I remembered it.

I’m not a huge fan of the wall decor but the cafe was filled with beautiful orchids from famous celebrities to congratulate their recent opening. Seems like pro golfer Shigeki Maruyama is the mastermind who decided to bring this cafe to Japan. He loved it so much that he decided to bring it to Tokyo. If you are looking for a good breakfast or an American-style meal, definitely stop by Daikanyama.

{  Mama Tarte  }

There’s a cute tart cafe located slightly off the main area of Daikanyama that feels like your grandma’s homemade tarts and is very well known among the females in town. This place is almost always filled with women and couples that are enjoying some afternoon tea. It’s quite close to quil fait bon in Daikanyama as well so if one is crowded, try the other one ;)

As we are currently enjoying the peaceful autumn season, pumpkin pie (around 700yen) seemed like the perfect choice. We were worried that this pie was going to be too heavy and sweet from the looks, but it turned out to be the complete opposite. It was really soft and had a strong pumpkin flavor. It wasn’t too cinnamon-y either which I liked and the whipped cream that came on the side was the perfect complement. As you might be able to see from the photos, this tart is quite large for a Japanese portion and it will definitely fill you up! The latte (735yen) i ordered came in a huge bowl too so I was really full after everything.

If you need a cute place to tea while out in Daikanyama, check this place out! PS: There’s about 2~3 tables upstairs for a smoking section but the rest is non-smoking.
