Happy April and Happy Cherry Blossom Season!

As you can see, cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Tokyo right now. I really love this time of the year as everyone just seems to be in a cheerful spirit. Hope you are all getting to enjoy this warmer beautiful spring time in Tokyo :) Above photos were taken around the Roppongi area. The top 2 photos are right by Randy, a great place to grab a yummy katsu sandwich and chill outside during this time of the year.

Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful time of the year. Cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Tokyo right now and it’s just something we look forward to every single year. Everyone is just in a more cheerful mood and you see more people out and about. Just like last year, here are some photos from Yasukuni Jinjya (Shrine) and Meguro River :)

btw, for those of you who are traveling to Japan, you may have noticed that everything is a little more expensive as Japan’s sales tax went from 5% to 8% starting on April 1st, 2014. Unfortunately, it’s set to go up again to 10% by October, 2015…

Cherry blossoms bloomed a little early this year in Tokyo and we had a beautiful warm weekend filled with gorgeous flowers. If you’re in Tokyo now until hopefully next weekend, you are in luck to see these beauties at their prime. Too bad cherry blossoms only last about 1~2 weeks… but that is why it’s a highly anticipated event and season here in Japan. We had a cold winter this year so i’m very happy that Spring is finally here :)

Shibazakura Festival
Shibazakura Festival

Just wanted to thank everyone who has been following my blog, liked us on facebook, emailed me, tweeted about us, gave me restaurant recommendations to try, etc. Very excited to hear from my readers and appreciate all the support :) Gives me the motivation to keep posting!

Today, I wanted to share with you a beautiful Shibazakura Festival that is going on in Yamanashi-prefecture until May 27th. (It was supposed to end this weekend but it got extended due to the late blooming of the flowers). Unfortunately it was overcast on the day we went… so we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, but if you go on a clear day, it should be an amazing view with some great photo opportunities. If you get hungry, they have some food options there but not a whole lot of selection.

PS: For those of you who live in Japan or who are thinking about moving to Japan, check out this awesome site which has some great articles about Japan: survivingnjapan.com.
