Have you heard of Anpanman? It’s pretty much a Japanese sensation that every kid loves and knows about as soon as they are born. It’s a toddler/kid favorite and they happen to have a museum called the “Anpanman Museum” in a few locations across Japan.

My daughter is also now into anpanman and we couldn’t wait to take her here. We visited the Yokohama Minato Mirai location and she absolutely loved everything about it. It’s like Disneyland for little kids but it’s not as big and a lot more compact so it’s easier to get around and still tires your little one out :D

There’s plenty of stimulation for your child from shows, things to see, interaction play area, game centers, food, shopping, even kids haircut. The museum is 1500yen per person (for both adults and kids above age 1). Even if you don’t go into the museum though, there’s plenty of free areas just to have fun so it’s totally worth visiting. In fact, the dancing show was the highlight for our daughter and it was in the courtyard which is in the free area so you can keep coming back but not enter the museum part if you’d like.

If you have a young child, this is definitely a fun place to come explore :)

24/7 Restaurant is a great family friendly cafe located in Minato Mirai. I heard a lot about how popular this place is amongst moms before visiting but once we got there, it was clear that literally every group dining here had a young child or a baby.

The place is decorated beautifully and although it’s very kid friendly, it still has a sophisticated and stylish touch to it. Can you believe their high chairs are the Stokke high chair?? fancy.

The best part of their lunch is that all the meals include a drink bar (that is all-you-can-drink) and all-you-can-eat bread. It was amazing. I got up so many times to refill or get a different drink and kept getting unlimited freshly baked bread. mmm Not to mention the food was also pretty good. The kabocha lasagna (1300yen) was delicious and filling. The breads were surprisingly all very good too.

If you are looking for a family friendly option in Minato Mirai, I highly recommend this cafe/restaurant. This place seems to always have long lines so prepare to wait in line or come right when it opens.

Wara Cafe

Located in Jiyugaoka, this bakery cafe has a soup or salad and all you can eat bread lunch set that women especially seem to love, so I had to go check it out. Their all you can eat bread is made from rice, komeko bread (米粉パン), which is currently a trend in Japan and they recommend heating it in the microwave for 10 to 20 seconds before you eat to have a very mochi mochi texture and I have to say the bread was delicious!

I got the B set which came with the simple veggie soup with lots of fresh veggies (surprisingly filling), quiche (which was nothing special), all you can eat bread (so good!), and a drink of your choice for 1200yen. The other soup in this photo is the A set which was pretty much the same as B set except it had the potage soup instead of the veggie soup which was also yummy for 1200yen.

The cafe is located on the 2nd floor and there’s a small bakery on the first floor right when you walk in so if you want to just buy the breads instead of dinning here, you can do that too. Check it out if you are close by.

Moomin Stand is an adorable sweets drink place inside of Landmark Tower in Minato Mirai, Yokohama. This is similar to Tapioca Milk Tea/Boba/Pearl Tea, and has quite the selection to choose from.

The store is filled with Moomin goods and they also sell a few snacks to go with your drink if you want something sweet.

I ordered the regular milk tea which felt a little on the sweet side since I’m really into authentic Taiwanese Milk Teas but it was still refreshing and also quite a popular place to grab a quick sweet drink.

Check it out if you’re close by!

Happy Belated New Year!

Hope everyone is doing well. Apologies for the lack of updates but I’m finally posting a yummy traditional Japanese place located inside of Roppongi Midtown.

Famous for their Tsukemono (pickles) from Nagoya, this restaurant serves seasonal fish with simple healthy options that most Japanese people would like to eat as an everyday meal. The fish is cooked perfectly and the sides are also great. It’s pretty awesome how you can get a healthy traditional meal in Roppongi Midtown. Check it out if you’re in the area.
