{ Tsuru Ton Tan — つるとんたん }
Tsuru: tsuru tsuru tsuru the sound of eating udon
Ton: ton ton ton the sound of making the noodles
Tan: tan tan tan the sound of cutting the noodles
This chain udon restaurant on the 10th floor of Tokyu Plaza in Ginza opened in the Spring of 2016 and is not only beautifully designed but is also spacious and has quite the luxurious feel to it with a grand piano and bar. At night you can enjoy some live Jazz music and surprisingly the udon is affordable despite the location and ambiance.
You can choose from regular thickness or thin noodles and the udon comes in quite a large bowl with a large spoon. Above are the Niku udon (980yen) and Mentaiko udon (1280yen). How pretty is this salad? Tsuruton salad for two (1080yen). Everything was delicious, highly recommend!
PS: They are also located at Haneda Airport International Terminal.

{ Quiche Yoroizuka }
Known as one of the Top 3 pastry chef’s in Japan, Toshi Yoroizuka, just opened a new venture called Quiche Yoroizuka in a few locations around Tokyo. This location in Minami Aoyama opened on October 16th, 2016.
Since opening, the cafe has been quite crowded with long lines but the concept is pretty simple and easy. The price point is opposite from his salon in Roppongi Midtown. (Blogged about here).
This cafe has both savory and sweet quiches and it’s pretty affordable. We came here for a little dessert and the pudding quiche was 280yen while the apple pie quiche was 380yen. Nothing fancy but if you are a Yoroizuka fan and if you happen to be in the area for something light, this could be a nice quick stop.

{ Anpanman Bakery }
Anpanman Bakery aka ジャムおじさんのパン工場. These delicious breads are not only cute, they are so soft and fluffy plus they are all Anpanman characters. This bakery is located inside of Anpanman Museum, which I blogged about in my previous post and I was pleasantly surprised at how good this bakery was. Constantly crowded with people trying to get their favorite characters, and with all the options they have you can’t go wrong.
I enjoyed the curry bread(kare-panman), the sausage bread(frank furu-to), cream pan(cream panda) and the cheese bread (meiken cheese). My daughter loved this place and the breads. Highly recommend it if you’re close by as you don’t need to pay the museum admission fee just to visit the bakery :)
