Tsukemen with organic veggies?!

Love.

Camino is located In the residential neighborhood of Ikejiriohashi/Mishuku (right next to Shibuya). It’s a small shop that serves tsukemen along with organically grown vegetables from the Tochigi prefecture. Just take a look at the amount of beautiful fresh vegetables in the dish pictured above! Some are served raw while others are grilled. Every single veggie also had a strong flavor to it which made it even more delicious.

This shop has a few different broths of ramen and tsukemen, but they are famous for their vegetable tsukemen dish. We ordered the “Vegetable tsukemen + egg + Futsumori(regular amount of noodles)” for 1250yen and “Shio Vegetable Tsukemen”(1050yen). Since it comes with a lot of veggies, their regular tsukemen comes with slightly less noodles so most men tend to order the “Futsumori” for an extra 100yen. In fact, I didn’t get the futsumori and regretted since I found myself wanting more noodles! Both broths were yummy but we liked the original tsukemen broth a little more. Their broth is made from tonkotsu + gyokai = pork broth + fish broth.

Ramen and tsukemen tend to be considered an unhealthy choice nutrtion-wise, but when you include this much veggies in your meal, you don’t feel quite so bad. This tsukemen might have become my personal fav already. yummmmm

Omotesando Koffee is a quaint coffee shop located in a residential neighborhood between Omotesando and Gaienmae. It’s literally someone’s home which has been converted into a coffee shop, but it serves playful and delicious coffee. The very minimal zen-like decor and well designed space makes this one of those places you’ll definitely want to try if you’re a coffee lover.

Since it was quite hot outside, we ordered your not-so-typical ‘Iced Cappuccino’ and ‘Iced Cafe Granita’. Both were yummy but we liked the Iced Cappuccino more since it was creamier. The ‘Iced Cappuccino’ seems like it’s their most popular iced drink menu item.

………………………………………………………………….
Iced Koffee Menu:
– Omotesando Koffee (400yen)
– Iced Shakerato — Espresso that is cooled in a shaker (500yen)
– Iced Cafe Latte — Espresso + Ice milk (500yen)
– Iced Cappuccino — Espresso + milk that is blended with ice, and then blended all together = very creamy and yummy (550yen)
– Iced Cappuccino Doppio — for people who like stronger cappuccino (650yen)
– Iced Cafe Mocha — Espresso + Iced Milk + Chocolate + Cream + Cocoa powder on the top (550yen)
– Iced Mochaccino — Ice + Cappuccino + Chocolate + Cream + Cocoa powder on the top (650yen)
– Iced Cafe Granita — Espresso + ice blended which is like a frappuccino (600yen)
– Iced Baileys Cappuccino — Iced Cappuccino + Irish Cream Liquor (700yen)

Their ‘Hot Koffee’ menu is pretty much the same as their ‘Iced Koffee’ menu without the ice.
………………………………………………………………….

There’s a small bench to sit down on but this is primarily a take-out coffee shop so you can sip on your coffee while you stroll through the shops in Omotesando.

Shop hours: 10:00-19:00

Mochinohana is a Japanese cafe located in the neighborhood of Yutenji along the Toyoko-line (next to Nakameguro). They are famous for their shaved ice created with natural spring water.

Their lunch menu is small. You have a choice between Ramen, Fish, or Nikujyaga for your main dish (including 4 different types of fish which is nice). All the meals come with rice (white, brown, or mochi), miso soup, and Japanese pickles. You can add a small salad for 100yen, and a drink for 100yen. Ours came out to be 850yen each since we ordered a drink for an extra 100yen – Totally worth it. The food was well prepared and good. However, there’s only one chef so it takes a while to get your meal.

We naturally had to try their shaved ice so we decided to get the Matcha green tea shaved ice for 600yen. It was huge, we should have gotten the small! It comes with their homemade condensed milk sweetener so you can decide how sweet you want to make it. If you are looking for a Japanese cafe experience, this may be a good one.

Sadaharu Aoki is known as one of the Top 3 pastry chefs in Japan. He is based in Paris but has a few store locations in Japan and one of them is inside of Shibuya Hikarie.

Ever since Hikarie opened in April of 2012, Sadaharu Aoki’s “Tokyo Yaki Macaron Chocolat” has been the most sold dessert inside of Hikarie ShinQ’s sweets floor. People stand in long lines to purchase this limited edition item since the “Tokyo Yaki Macaron” is only sold at the Hikarie ShinQ location.

Last year they sold the “Tokyo Yaki Macaron Chocolat”(381yen) which had a chocolate macaron on the inside covered by a matcha cake on the outside.
This year, it’s reversed, selling the “Tokyo Yaki Macaron Matcha”(381yen) which has a matcha macaron on the inside covered by a chocolate cake on the outside.

I was expecting it to be uber sweet but it wasn’t as sweet as I expected. Give this popular item a try if you’re near by Shibuya Hikarie. Since the initial buzz has died down a bit, you probably won’t have to wait in a line anymore which is nice.
