Partenope

If you want really good authentic Italian Cuisine, check out Partenope in Hiro. They have one of the best pizza’s which reminded us of the food we had when we visited Naples, Italy. They are famous for their pizza and it’s easy to see why. The special combination of their dough, tomato sauce and olive oil makes it unique and excellent. Just writing this post makes me already want to go back and try their pastas and other dishes. I suggest you to make reservations if you are planning to go at night. They are always crowded and we’ve never been able to walk-in and get a seat without a long wait.

{  Artichaut  }

Artichaut
Artichaut

Artichaut is a Michelin 1-star rated restaurant in Ebisu/Hiroo area (about a 10 min walk from Ebisu station). The decor of the restaurant is lacking but the great food makes up for it. We had the 2300-yen lunch course and I chose the beautiful organic Kamakura vegetable for my starter (pictured at the top). The dish is made with more than 13 vegetables and I was very impressed with how they melded them together so perfectly — it was an art piece that was too pretty to eat. The main dish, beef bourguignon, literally melted in my mouth. The dessert was very good as well.

The restaurant is very quiet and it doesn’t have many seats so it feels a bit like everyone can hear your conversation, but if you want delicious french cuisine definitely check this place out.

{  Le Souffle  }

Le Souffle in Hiroo is the first genuine souffle restaurant I’ve ever been too. As soon as you enter, you imediately feel as though you’ve walked into a classic restraunt that’s been around for ages. This restaurant serves both lunch and dinner but we went only for the dessert.

Who knew there was so many different types of souffles?! Vanilla, Citrus, Mint, Amande, Grand-Marier, Cassis, Coconuts, etc. We went with the Vanilla since it was our first time. It takes 20 minutes to make from the time you order. The wait went by quickly as I sipped on a latte and looked forward to trying the dessert. Once ready, the fluffiest picture perfect souffle i’ve ever seen was brought to our table. I hope the photo taken with my iPhone does it justice because it was art that came to the table. The souffle was so delicate, as soon as you put a spoon through it, it deflated. It wasn’t too sweet – which allowed me to finish the hot and fluffy souffle very quickly.

Love that they have instructions on how to eat it a souffle properly :)
