Chicken + egg + rice = Oyakodon
Come here to get the best kind. Hashidaya is located about 5min away from Shibuya station. We came here for lunch and the first floor was already packed so we went up to the second floor.
Their famous Oyakodon (名物親子丼) is 850yen (pay 50yen more to add chicken broth soup), and the Chicken Nanban (チキン南蛮定食) was 780yen and includes miso soup and rice. Everything was delicious and the place kept bringing in customers non-stop.
Hashidaya serves more of a traditional Japanese-style cuisine that specializes in chicken for dinner time. If you want to try their Oyakodon though, come here for lunch!

It looks delicious (^_^) I’ll save the adress for the next time I’m in Tokyo.
I love your site, but one really does get hungry just by looking at it ;)
Thank you!
Maki, thanks for sharing, your blog is gorgeous and this particular post makes me want to get to Tokyo ASAP. Does Hashidaya only serve oyakodon at lunch time?
I look forward to your reply (and to the delivery of your guide book which I purchased earlier today, ureshii!)
Thank you Janice! It seems like you can’t order the Oyakodon by itself for dinner service. (You can add it on to your ‘dinner set’ but not by itself). I suggest going here during lunch time if you want to try it byitself without having to order everything else.
Hai Maki,
Is it a family friendly restaurant? I’m planning to take my kids there, once we arrive in Tokyo-Shibuya.
Depends on how old your kids are but I wouldn’t say it’s exactly kids friendly. If you can get the tables upstairs, it won’t be counter seating so it might be a little better.
Can I order the chicken nanban on it’s own ? Or it only comes with set option during lunch ^^
